Band Administrator
Current Holder: Darcy Robinson
Under the direction of the Chief and Council, the Band Administrator, manages the affairs of the Band and provides advice to the Chief and Council on program and policy matters. They also provide direction to all staff and evaluate employee performance, develop proposals for Economic and Social Development, ensure sound management of all projects and programs, and administer the policies of the Band Council.
Formal education and/or experience in the areas of accounting, office management, planning and communications, knowledge of DIAND programs and funding areas, business experience, and an understanding of the aspirations and goals of the people is fundamental for being a Band Administrator.
A Band Administrator must make recommendations, with respect to additional employees, regarding the allocation of job duties and responsibilities, and the salaries to be paid. They must also make recommendations to Council on the hiring and discharge of employees, supervise the activities of the administrative staff and other employees, supervise the preparation of annual revenue budget and all other applicable program budgets for submission to Council, see that disbursements of Band and program funds are made in accordance with approved budget allocations, must be responsible for the carrying out all financial regulations, attend to all Council meetings in the capacity of a resource person, see that minutes of Council meetings are kept in which there will be recorded all resolutions and bylaws passed by Council and report to the Chief and Council on the administration of Council affairs.
Office Administrator
Current Holder: Darcy Robinson
Under the general direction of the Band Administrator, s/he assists by maintaining an efficient and effective working Band Office. The office administrator must maintain accurate financial records, posting, balancing, and reconciliation, maintain all Band files, type, direct and record all correspondence, publish news letter, write, issue and record all disbursements & receivables, answers telephone calls, keeps minutes of band meetings and other related duties as required.
Health Director
Current Holder: Carolyn Sherrell
A suitable director can help council define its purpose, develop goals, strategies and action plans, and implement Council and staff decision-making processes. In Council's absences, s/he will set office standards by being the day-to-day conscience of the organization, and by providing Council's vision help to set values. This is an administrative position at a senior level maintaining overall responsibility for health operations and financial transactions. The Health Director is responsible for the deposit and disbursement of all Band funds and for administering accounting systems, which accurately reflect the current status of Band Health Program finances, s/he is also responsible for administrative direction of all phases if the Band health program and serves as advisor to the Band Council and program heads on employee management relations, serves as custodian of the official records, books and minutes of meetings, for general office operation of the health administration, providing overall supervision of the clerical operations related to accounts, personnel, purchasing, stenographic, and typing services, ensuring the upkeep of related records, supervision and training clerical staff and writing letters, for providing the Band Council with data and information in support of programs, projects or services negotiated with private industry and/or government agencies, acting as liaison person for the band as required. The work is generally done independently, but the quality of work is readily seen by the results or lack of results obtained. Supervision is exercised over the clerical staff as required over health programs and employees in those programs.
Accountant
Current Holder: Dieter Pomietlarz
The Accountant is required to assist the Band Manager with the financial transactions of the Ashcroft Indian Band and to ensure accuracy in recording and reporting those transactions. The Accountant must maintain an accounting system for the Ashcroft Indian Band in accordance with standard acceptable accounting procedures, submit financial reports including budget projections to the Manager and the Band Council on a monthly basis to update and to provide advice on the Band's financial situation, advise the Manager and Band Council on new policies that should be implemented to ensure the stability of the band's financial operations, the accountant must monitor the financial position and advise the Manager and the Band Council on ways to improve the financial position of the Band, assist in the development of plans to make the bands financial operations more efficient, establish and maintain good working relationships with all staff, ensure personal information concerning financial matters is kept in confidence and finally, attend training workshops to enhance present skills and become aware of new methods to put into the financial program.
Education Coordinator

This is an administrative position where the work is carried out both in the school unit and the community, working with Ashcroft students, parents, teachers and the Department of Indian Affairs staff. The employee will encounter a variety of problems that require immediate decisions, and therefore must be able to work with minimum supervision.
The education coordinator is responsible for being liaison between the Band members and school staff to improve communications within the educational institutions, for boarding home placements, school supplies, gym supplies, education allowances and assist in tuition applications, for counseling students and parents in matters relating to student progress, tutoring, extracurricular activities, personal problems, home problems, and any situations affecting the students' progress, working with adult students on matters relating to sponsorship, apprenticeship, relocation and on-the-job training, maintaining student files, applications for funding and program cost ledgers, advising parents of students progress or problems by making home visits as well as written reports, preparing monthly reports to Council, including education program budget reports and program progress report, attending school committee meetings, training, seminars and workshops upon approval of the Band Manager, carrying out other related duties are requested, and maintaining contacts with students attending schools in the Vancouver area when the coordinator is in the area on other scheduled business.
Social Development Worker

The objective of the Social Development Worker is to administer a social development program, home support and adult care programs, assist in the development of community resources, capacities, and services, establishes and maintain sound working relationships with other band staff, departmental staff and representatives of other departments and agencies. The Social Development Worker is knowledgeable and current regarding all social assistance policy and procedures; s/he receives social assistance applications from applicants, together with supplementary documentation, to be processed upon the applicant meeting necessary requirements, assist clients in seeking employment, education training or alternate means if support, interpret policies and procedures to ensure applicants are reporting properly or to assist them in the proper route for grievances, complete budget and decision sheets to determine eligibility for social assistances on the basis of identified needs and resources, assist employable recipients to seek and secure work, encourage and facilitate the enrollment of recipients in training or educational programs that will enhance employability, interpret policy and procedures to clients for their better understanding of the purposes, services, and requirements of the program, including the client's obligation to report income and changes in their circumstances, and to accept work, or to undertake training when available. Duties may also include maintaining a confidential file on each client which is to include case recordings and copies of all required forms in connection with applications for assistance, correspondence regarding the case, and records of disbursements of funds, including amounts and purposes, ensuring that all month end program reports are promptly submitted to the Department of Indian Affairs, counseling families incapable of physically or emotionally maintaining childcare. Also, assist these families in obtaining temporary homes under the Guardian Financial Assistance Program. In some circumstances advise the appropriate authorities if inappropriate childcare is being exercised, evaluate applications for home support services, and arrange for provision of services to eligible applicants and finally provide case reports and participate in case discussions when needed with Social Service Agencies.
On-Reserve Social Housing Administrator

The Administration Manager is responsible for the overall day-to-day operations of the administration department. Functions of the department include Human Resources, Social Housing, Lands Management, Membership and Administrative Resources, Social Housing, Lands Management, Membership and Administrative support, with sole responsibility of Human Resources and the Social Housing Program. The incumbent will supervise staff assigned to other functions and will provide support to the Band Administrator in the areas of policy development, planning strategies, budgeting processes and other various projects as required by the Band Administrator budget. In the absence of the Band Administrator, the incumbent assumes the responsibility of the Band Administrator. The Administrator Manager reports directly to the Band Administrator or the Chief and Council in the absence of the Band Administrator. The duties of the Administrator Manager is to preserves indirect, cooperative communications with the Chief and Council and acts as an advisor to the Chief and Council and the Band Administrator, insure that internal relationships are maintained with all other departments through attending and participation in weekly management meetings to keep abreast of evolving issues as well as insure external relationships are maintained with the Department of Indian and Northern Affairs, Canada Mortgage and Housing Corporation, federal and provincial labor ministries and financial institutions.
Maintenance Supervisor

Under the general direction of the Band Administrator, coordinates & facilitates all Maintenance and construction of the Village. They must estimate time, material & manpower required for various projects, schedule and keep time cards, ensure high quality of workmanship, safety and legal, maintain complete set of plans and specifications, maintain vehicles, collects debris and any other related duties as required.
